Waterways
Britain's inland waterways are extraordinarily diverse, ranging from man-made canals like the Grand Union and Leeds & Liverpool to navigable rivers like the Severn and Trent. Each has its own unique history and special characteristics.
We own 2,200 miles (3,540km) of canals and rivers, which is about half of all the inland navigations in Britain.
The Association of Inland Navigation Authorities is a good starting point for information about other navigation authorities, including those that manage the Thames and the Broads.
