New lock gates fitted as part of the Liverpool Canal Link project

New oak lock gates are being installed at Mann Island lock within the Countryside and Neptune Development, as part of the £20m Liverpool Canal Link project.

British Waterways has successfully completed a £700,000 project to repair an historic piece of waterway infrastructure, the Denham Culvert, which carries the River Frays under the Grand Union Canal just north of Denham Lock, near Uxbridge.

Summer Water Safety Sessions On The Grand Union Canal

With summer getting underway, a group of organisations in West London have joined forces to highlight the importance of enjoying canals and rivers safely in the warmer weather to local children. British Waterways London, Thames 21 and Beauchamp floating classroom are holding activity sessions for pupils from Bentworth, Kenmont, Barlby and Middle Row Primary Schools at Ladbroke Grove on the Grand Union Canal on Tuesday 8 and Wednesday 9 July 2008.
